The Vic Country and Vic Metro Academy programs provide a host of players from NAB League clubs with the chance to potentially represent their state at the top level of the national talent pathway.
Vic Country academies are made up of players from the six NAB League clubs based in country Victoria (Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong Stingrays, Geelong Falcons, Gippsland Power, Greater Western Victoria Rebels and Murray Bushrangers), while Vic Metro academies comprise players from clubs based in metropolitan Melbourne (Calder Cannons, Eastern Ranges, Northern Knights, Oakleigh Chargers, Sandringham Dragons and Western Jets).
Academy members gain access to some of the best coaching resources the state has to offer, with the aim being to develop the fundamental skills that players will need to go on and play football at the highest level as well as maximising each player’s individual strengths.
