The NAB League Girls home and away season is now complete, with a two-week finals series to begin next Saturday at Shepley Oval.
For the first time in the competitions three-year history, preliminary finals will be played involving the top four teams, before the NAB League Girls Grand Final is played on Saturday May 25 at IKON Park. All games will be live video streamed via the NAB League app.
Grand finalists in 2018, the Northern Knights and Geelong Falcons return to the finals in 2019, with the Knights finishing the season undefeated in top spot and the Falcons in second, suffering just the one defeat for the year.
Calder Cannons – the inaugural NAB League Girls premiers in 2017 – jumped to third spot with a final round win over Gippsland Power to secure their finals position, while Eastern Ranges dropped to fourth spot, after a final round defeat to Sandringham Dragons.
The preliminary finals will see Northern Knights face Eastern Ranges at 12.30pm and Geelong Falcons meet Calder Cannons at 2.15pm, with the winners to meet at IKON Park the following Saturday.
An exhibition match will also be played next weekend on Sunday between the fifth placed Oakleigh Chargers and the Tasmania Devils. This will be the third exhibition match played by the Devils against NAB League Girls teams, with the match to take place at Windy Hill at 11am.
In the lead-up to the finals, NAB League Girls supporters can now watch replays of ALL home and away matches up to Round 8, with Round 9 to be uploaded during the week. Champion Data stats feature for all games as well. Download the NAB League app below.
